The wood seems slightly rough to the touch unlike the exquisitely finished Mikheev or Holztiger figures. The wood grain on the set I received was not as lovely or pronounced or different between the figures as shown in the photos. There are no eyes. Compared to the rest of our wood figure collection these are just meh, so I will have to spruce them up by sanding and polishing them by hand myself, maybe add a slight tint to the polish to some of the figures and bust out my drill press and drill some tiny indentations for eyes. On sale this set was pretty cheap - averaged out to $4 per figure but even for that price they are strictly ok.
